ICRP and FMU Sign Cooperation Agreement
On February 19, 2014, the International Commission on Radiological Protection and Fukushima Medical University entered into a Memorandum of Agreement based on their mutual interest in recovery following the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant. Fukushima Medical University will offer publically available information and advice related to their work with the citizens of Fukushima Prefecture and more broadly in recovery from the accident, while the International Commission on Radiological Protection will offer information and advice related to the system of radiological protection used world-wide that they have developed and maintained over the last 86 years. It is hoped that this cooperation will help continue the process of recovery and learning.
